Campbell and Waianae posted impressive victories in an afternoon doubleheader at Kahuku's Carlton E. Weimer Stadium to advance to the OIA Red Junior Varsity championship game.
Quarterback Pohaku Kaheaku-Paiva passed for two touchdowns and scrambled from 3 yards out to score another to lead the way, as the Sabers jumped out to an early 20-0 lead in the first quarter and won going away 34-7.
Kahuku was held off the scoreboard until the 7:51 mark in the fourth as Jrue Williams' 35 yard reception off a screen pass prevented the shutout.
In the early game, Waianae outscored Leilehua in every quarter to earn a 48-20 victory.
Seariders running back Jurick Valdez scored on runs of 32 and 45 yards, and Niko Kala-Mahiai added a kickoff return for another score as Waianae built a 21-6 halftime advantage.
Mules quarterback Fletcher Washington pased for a score and ran in another touchdown in the loss.
