The top-ranked Kahuku Red Raiders (4-0, 3-0) will be making their first appearance away from the friendly confines of Carleton E. Weimer Field this season when they visit Kaiser Stadium Friday in a rare Oahu Interscholastic Association Red/White doubleheader.
Senior quarterback Lasi Livai threw a pair of touchdown passes and senior running back Aofaga Wily ran for two other scores in a 35-0 win over Castle last Friday. Kahuku's defense recorded three interceptions - two by senior defensive back Devilo Galeai - and junior defensive end Lamone Williams returned the other for a 47-yard pick-six.
The Bulldogs (0-6, 0-4) have been shutout twice in their last three games, including a 36-0 blanking at Moanalua last Friday, and have been outscored by opponents by a margin of 265 to 52 this season.
The Kahuku-Kaimuki game will be followed by an OIA White contest between the Waialua Bulldogs and the host Kaiser Cougars.
The Bulldogs (0-5, 0-3) allow an average of 46.4 points and 435.5 yards per game by opponents, while offensively, they average just 9.4 points and 135 yards each time out. Waialua managed just 32 yards of total offense and allowed 561 by Radford in a 62-0 blowout last week. The Bulldogs are one of eight schools statewide without a win this season.
The Cougars (4-2, 4-1) have won four straight following back-to-back losses to open the year and are in second-place in the nine-team White Conference. Senior quarterback Makana Lyman threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns and junior running back Fitou Fisiiahi scored three rushing touchdowns in a 47-14 win at Nanakuli Friday.
