After starting the season with four consecutive losses, Pearl City has strung together a pair of wins to even their OIA White record to 2-2, with a 54-21 win over Anuenue in a Saturday afternoon game at Waialua.
Running back Blake Cooper scored the first of three scores on the ground from three yards out to open up the scoring for Pearl City in the first quarter, and would add a 5-yarder in the early stages of the second quarter to give the Chargers a 14-0 advantage.
Kainalu Kaleo's 11 yard run would keep Anuenue to within seven points, but Cooper's three yard blast later in the quarter extended the lead back to 14.
The Chargers would go on to score 28 points in the second quarter, including a 32 yard pass from Brock Teixeira to Isaac Amorin and a 4 yard run by Tanner Tokunaga.
Kaleo broke off a 60-yard run for Anuenue to open the third quarter to make the score 35-14, but Pearl City would continue to pour it on offensively, with a pair of Teixeira touchdown passes to Tokunaga (21 yards) and Amorin (53 yards) and a 57-yard scamper by backup quarterback Travis Joe to put the game on ice.
Anuenue Tui's 4-yard blast late in the fourth would cap the scoring for the night.
