HAWAII KAI - The Farrington Governors prolific ground game proved too much for the Kaimuki Bulldogs to handle as the Governors easily won 52-0 at Kaiser Stadium. The Farrington offense was spearheaded by Abraham "Amo" Silva (174 yards, 3 TDs) and Tyler Taumua (96 yards, 3 TDs). Overall, the Governors amassed over 400 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

After winning the opening toss, Farrington elected to defer and quickly forced a three-and-out. Deep in Kaimuki territory, Farrington faced a 4th-and-1 but converted to put the ball at the Kaimuki 7-yard line. Two plays later, Amo Silva broke a couple of tackles en route to the end-zone from five yards out. Shanelle Atabay Carillo's PAT kick was good.

On Kaimuki's next offensive series, facing third down in their own territory, quarterback Zac Bastatas recovered his own fumble and was able to get off a pass but was called for intentional grounding. The penalty plus loss of down made it fourth down and pushed the Bulldogs back to their own 14-yard line where they punted away. Farrington took over with good field position at the Kaimuki 29-yard line.  A pass from Montana Liana to Francis Evagelia made it first-and-goal at the 10-yard line and on the very next play, Tyler Taumua plowed his way into the end-zone. Atabay Carillo's kick made the score 14-0.

The Farrington defense forced their third consecutive three-and-out but the offense stalled at the Kaimuki 38-yard line facing 4th-and-4. Farrington elected to go for it but the Kaimuki defense read the draw play perfectly and stopped the Governors for a two yard loss. Kaimuki took over on downs but turned the ball over two plays later when Farrington defensive back Austin Faumui intercepted Bastatas' pass over the middle.

Farrington drove down to the Kaimuki 22-yard line and on first down M. Liana threw a screen pass, in the face of a heavy rush, to Evagelia who followed a wall of blockers into the end-zone. The snap on the PAT kick was bobbled and no good.

Kaimuki started the second quarter with another three-and-out and the Farrington offense capitalized on a big play by Amo Silva. Silva took a handoff up the middle, ran over a defender, and out-sprinted the Kaimuki secondary down the near sideline from 37 yards out.  Farrington went for two but after a holding penalty, M. Liana's pass was no good keeping the score at 26-0.

On Farrington's ensuing offensive series the Governors were facing third down from the Kaimuki 24-yard line when quarterback M. Liana dropped back to pass, saw no one open and scrambled for 21 yards. Two plays later, Taumua took the pitch into the endzone for a 3-yard rushing touchdown making the score 32-0. M. Liana's pass on the two point conversion was incomplete.

Near the end of the first half, Kaimuki finally got some offense going. Bastatas completed a pass to Fano Tuisila and the ensuing penalty against Farrington moved the ball to the Farrington 14-yard line. But with nine seconds left in the first half Bastatas took the snap out the shotgun, rolled to his right, and was hit hard by Vaoatea Sagapolu. Play was stopped as Bastatas was tended to and helped off the field. Kaimuki lined up for a field goal with the last play of the half but instead faked the kick but the pass was batted away and the half ended.

After both teams swapped possession to start the second half, Amo Silva took a pitch on first down and raced down the near sideline for an 80-yard rushing touchdown. Silva's third rushing touchdown of the night and Justin Tamashiro's PAT kick made the score 39-0.

Not to be outdone, Tyler Taumua scored on the first play of Farrington's next offensive series from 54 yards out. Taumua took the handoff, broke a couple of arm tackles at the line of scrimmage and accelerated through the heart of the defense for his third rushing touchdown of the night. Atabay Carillo's PAT was good.

On Kaimuki's ensuing offensive possession new quarterback Tai Boyd was able to get his team down to the Farrington 17-yard line but a fumbled exchange between center led to pileup with Farrington defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko emerging with the ball.

Late in the fourth quarter, Farrington's third quarterback, Setefano Lavatai juked a couple of defenders and scored on 55-yard keeper to complete the scoring. The PAT kick was no good.

Farrington improved to 4-0 overall, 2-0 OIA while Kaimuki dropped to 0-4, 0-2.
