AOP's Dunhour signs with Notre Dame de Namur

Academy of the Pacific senior Micah Dunhour has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Notre Dame de Namur University next season.

Dunhour, a versatile 6-foot-5 guard/forward, was second among Division I scorers in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and sixth in the state with an average of 13.7 points per game. He helped the Dolphins reached the state semifinals in their first year of DI competition.

Notre Dame de Namur, located in San Bruno, Calif., near San Francisco International Airport, is an NCAA Division II program that competes in the Pac West Conference along with -- among others -- Brigham Young University-Hawai'i, Hawai'i Pacific University, Chaminade and UH-Hilo.

According to AOP athletic director Ryan Hogue, Dunhour chose Notre Dame de Namur over HPU and Concordia (Ore.).

Notre Dame de Namur's head coach is George Puou, a former two-time Honolulu Advertiser All-State Player at Kailua High School and standout at San Jose State.

Cheynne Lishman, a former Advertiser All-State player from Kalaheo, is a junior guard for the Argonauts.
