Kaiser splits doubleheader with Moanalua

Kaiser split a doubleheader with Moanalua, winning the early game 5-2 but suffering their first loss of the season in the second, as Na Menehune rally in the bottom of the fourth to win 8-6.

In the first game, the Cougars jumped out early, scoring two runs in the first, and added three more in the sixth to increase the lead to 5-0. Jordan Alcoran pitched six shutout innings for the victory, and Kelan Yoshioka went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

The second game looked to be going Kaiser's way as the Cougars jumped out for 3 runs in the third and 3 more in the fourth to lead 6-1. But Moanalua would capitalize on five errors, plating 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score at 6-all.

Moanalua would eventually take the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth, benefiting from another Cougar miscue to add the go-ahead run, and bringing another run home on a Mark Kuga single to increase the lead to 8-6.
