Punahou wins team title by single stroke; 'Iolani's Chan wins 2nd individual crown

Punahou claimed the team title at the David S. Ishii Foundation/HHSAA Boys golf championship held at Waikoloa Village on the 18th hole, while 'Iolani's Lorens Chan shot an 11-under 133 to win his second individual crown.

The Buffanblu won the title with a birdie on the 18th hole by Kalena Preus, defeating ILH rival 'Iolani by a single stoke, 574 to 575, with Moanalua just a stroke behind 'Iolani at 576.

'Iolani's Chan, a junior, continued a torrid pace he set yesterday when he card a 6-under 66, with a 5-under round on the final day to win his second state title with an 11-under 133 performance. He won his first individual championship in 2009 as a freshman.

Moanalua senior Tyler Ota equaled Chan's second-day total with a 67 of his own, to place second with a 7-under 137 total along with Punahou sophomore Kalena Preus (67-70).
