Kapolei overpowered third-seed Baldwin, 4-0, while 'Iolani edged Kealakehe, 1-0, in quarterfinal action at the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts/HHSAA Boys Soccer State Championships.

The Hurricanes will take on Kalani, an upset winner over defending champ Punahou, while 'Iolani will face top-seed Mililani in tomorrow's semifinals at Waipio Soccer Pennisula.

In Division II opening round play, defending champ Honoka'a began their title defense with a 5-0 victory over Castle.


DIVISION I

Kapolei 4, Baldwin 0

The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead into halftime, and scored three more goals after the break, two of them coming off of the foot of Michael Wolf in the 56th and 67th minutes.


'Iolani, Kealakehe 0

KJ Ahlo's score in the 21st minute was the difference, as the Raiders won a second straight contest by a 1-0 count.


'Aiea 3, Lahainaluna 2

Taylor Sonobe-Morita scored in the 17th and 28th minutes to help lead 'Aiea to a 3-2 victory over Lahainaluna.


Waiakea 5, Moanalua 3

Nu'u Aiawa had a hat trick for the Warriors in a 5-3 win over Moanalua. Aiawa posted goals in the 5th, 52nd and 80th minutes.


DIVISION II

Honoka'a 5, Castle 0

rnJoel Shoemaker-Hassey scored two goals in the 11th and 41st minutes, as defending champ Dragons jumped out to 3-0 advantage in first half en route to a 5-0 win over the Knights.


Mid-Pacific 1, Seabury Hall 0

Brandon Nakamura's goal in the 71st minute was the difference, as the Owls advance over the Spartans.


Kapa'a 2, Makua Lani 1 (PK)

Kapa'a won in penalty kicks, 4-2, to give the Warriors a 2-1 victory over the Lions.


Christian Liberty 3, Kahuku 2 (PK)

Christian Liberty took down OIA White champ Kahuku, 3-2, in a game that was decided by penalty kicks (4-2).
