Mellor steps down as head coach at Kalaheo

Chris Mellor said he has resigned as football coach at Kalaheo High.

"It was just time for me to move on," said Mellor, adding he made his decision after the season.

Mellor coached the Mustangs six seasons, compiling a 27-29 record. Kalaheo was 2-6 this past season. He had taken the Mustangs into postseason four times. His team took second in the Oahu Interscholastic Association White in 2010, when the Mustangs qualified for the Division II state tournament.

Mellor's departure leaves two vacancies at OIA schools. Pearl City is seeking a replacement for Kai Kamaka.
