The Cougars earned a 1-0 home shutout over Roosevelt in a muddy affair to open their OIA boys soccer campaign.

Kaiser Myles Nakagawa's cross bounced off a number of players before being headed in by fullback Max Meredith at just about midway through the first-half to score the lone goal in the contest.

The Rough Riders had a number of chances to score in the second half to equalize, but a number of key stops by Cougars' goalie Lorenzo Reeves preserved the shutout.
