Kaua'i High defeated Kapa'a, 16-13, yesterday to force a winner-take-all playoff Saturday between Kapa'a and Waimea for the Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation football championship.

The playoff is set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Vidinha Stadium. The winner gets the league's sole berth into the Division II state tournament.

Yesterday's game was a completion of a Sept. 17 game that was suspended after three quarters due to darkness, with Kapa'a leading, 7-6.

Kapa'a and Waimea each finished the regular season at 4-2 in league play. Kaua'i's KIF season ends at 1-5 (2-6 overall).
