Saint Louis, Pac-Five receive No. 1 seeds


Saint Louis received the No. 1 seed for Division I and Pac-Five is the top seed for DII in the upcoming Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball State Championships.

The Division I tournament will run from May 4 through May 7 at Les Murakami Stadium. The DII tourney will run from May 5 through May 7 at Hans L'Orange Field, except for the May 7 title game which will be at Les Murakami Stadium.

Saint Louis went 16-2 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, winning its second straight ILH championship after a 21-year title drought. O'ahu Interscholastic Association champ Moanalua (13-1-1) is the No. 2 seed, followed by Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin (14-0) and Big Island Interscholastic Federation champ Waiakea (10-1-1).

The top four seeds receive first-round byes and will begin tournament play in the May 5 quarterfinals.

In Division II, Pac-Five (9-5) is the No. 1 seed, followed by Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation champion Kauai (9-4-1), BIIF DII champ Konawaena (8-0) and OIA White Conference champ Radford (11-3).
