Marcus Mariota threw four touchdown passes and Saint Louis held Wai'anae to 130 yards of offense last night as the Crusaders won, 42-3, in nonleague action at Aloha Stadium.

Saint Louis improved to 2-0, while the Seariders fell to 0-2.

The Crusaders scored on their first four possessions, starting with Mariota's 7-yard TD pass to Joshua Tupua barely three minutes into the game. Mariota later connected with Kaeo Aliviado on a 25-yard scoring pass on fourth-and-12, and Jesse Correa's extra point made it 14-0 with 4:38 remaining in the first quarter.

Wai'anae cut it to 14-3 on Shaughn Spencer's 29-yard field goal 47 seconds into the second quarter, but Saint Louis responded with Mariota's 27-yard touchdown pass to Jared Tomaszek. Keanu Mook-Garcia then scored on a 5-yard TD run to help the Crusaders take a 28-3 lead into halftime.

Saint Louis scored on its first possession of the second-half, a six-play, 70-yard drive capped by Mariota's 3-yard lob pass to Duke Bukoski. Correa's PAT made it 35-3 with 5:31 left in the third quarter.

Mariota, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound senior who has made a verbal commitment to play for the University of Oregon next season, finished with 14 completions in 20 attempts with one interception. Mook-Garcia helped fill the void left by injured running back Derek Nakasato (groin) with 64 yards on just eight carries.

"We've been working hard and executing," Mariota said. "We have to keep working hard and keep striving to get better."

Darnell Arceneaux, in the first year of his second stint as Crusaders head coach, said the Saints' offense is "on the same page" from the top down.

"It all starts with trust," said Arceneaux, a former All-State quarterback from Saint Louis. "Everybody has to trust what they see."

He said Nakasato - who rushed for 126 yards in the season opener last week - "could have played" but was rested as a precaution.

Wai'anae receiver Nico Camacho was knocked unconscious on a punt coverage play just over one minute into the game, and play was delayed for about 20 minutes as an ambulance arrived and took him to The Queen's Medical Center. Seariders athletic director Glenn Tokunaga said Camacho gained consciousness and was later released from the hospital. He was able to move his limbs and is expected to fully recover, Tokunaga said.
