Mililani girls, Radford boys win West titles




MILILANI - Mililani's girls and Radford's boys captured O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division track and field championships Saturday night at John Kauinana Stadium.

Kapolei's Devin Jenkins set a record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.67 seconds, beating the previous mark of 22.2 set by Koldene Walsh and Clayton Makuka.

Mililani's girls tallied 148.5 points. Radford was a distant second with 110 with Kapolei taking third with 97.

Kimberly Pugliese led the Trojans by winning the 1,500 and 3,000 meter runs. Other Trojans who won their events were Krisha Zane in the high jump, Courtney Terashima in the pole vault and Amber Camody in the triple jump.

Radford's Andrea Hinkle also won two events, the 100 and 200, as did Kapolei's Charlinda Ioane in the discus and shot put. Hinkle also was on the Rams' winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Radford scored 100 points with Leilehua finishing second with 96.5 and Mililani taking third at 94.

Radford won six events, including the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. Kevin Acasio won the 110-meter hurdles, Matthew Baker won the 1,500, Phillip Hogan won the 400 and Romar Bacosa won the long jump.

Kapolei's Jenkins also won the 100.
