Six Hawai'i players picked for Polynesian Classic


Six Hawai'i high school seniors will be playing in the first AIGA Foundation 2011 Polynesian All-American Football Classic Jan. 15 in Los Angeles, according to game press release.

Saint Louis receiver Duke Bukoski will be joined by Kahuku players Allen Muti, Christopher Thee, Jamal Napeahi, TJ Tito and Tigi Hill.

Polynesian players from the Mainland and South Pacific will play in the game, which will be held at Cathedral High's stadium.

The coaching staff includes former NFL players Dan Saleaumua, former Wai'anae standout Kurt Gouveia, Chris Maumalanga and Richard Brown, as well as former college players AJ Tuitele, Willie Tagoa'i and Matt Melele, the press release said.

College recruiters will be scouting workouts, the release added.
