Kaiser squeaks past Kailua, 1-0, in Red East opener


Keara Ortega scored the only goal of the game to lift Kaiser over Kailua, 1-0, in O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red East girls' soccer Wednesday night at Kailua.

In other Red East games, Kahuku and Kalani played to a 1-1 tie, while Moanalua knocked off Roosevelt, 6-0.

In the OIA White, Farrington beat Kaimuki, 3-0, and Kalaheo and McKinley played to a scoreless tie.

Moanalua: Tiana Fujimoto 2, Amber Garcia, Kylie Mitsuda, Mana Sugioka, Casey Tabion.

Kahuku: Nicky Fiu.

Kaiser: Keara Otega.

Kalani: Jane Kakugawa.
