Kamehameha defeats Kahuku in four






Kamehameha defeated third-seeded Kahuku in four sets, 25-16, 23-25, 25-10, 28-26, to advance to a semifinal matchup with Waiakea.

Brittany-Ann Kalepa and Misty Ma'a each contributed 12 kills for Kamehameha-Kapalama, and Talia Jardin added 10 kills and 4 blocks.

Lizzie Blake had 10 kills for Kahuku, who will face off against Kamehameha-Maui in a consolation bracket match at 5:00p tomorrow at KS-Maui.


Waiakea upsets Kamehameha-Maui in four

The KS-Maui bracket saw both seeded teams fall today, as Waiakea took down second seed Kamehameha-Maui in four sets, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-14.

Morgan Rapozo recorded 19 kills and 4 aces, and Keirsa Pakani-Tsukiyama added 10 kills for Waiakea.

Ginger Long had 16 kills for Kamehameha-Maui.


Punahou sweeps Mililani, 25-21, 25-11, 25-20

Top-seeded Punahou had little trouble with the Trojans, winning in straight sets, 25-21, 25-11, 25-20.

Carly Kan put down 13 kills, and Brigitte Russo added 8 more for the Buffanblu, who advance to face Kaiser in a semifinal match set for 7:00p tomorrow at King Kekaulike.

Jordyn Keamo had 6 kills and Syanne Cossey added 5 for the Trojans, who will face off against Kamehemeha-Hawaii in the 5:00p consolation bracket match also at King Kekaulike.


Kaiser outlasts Kamehameha-Hawaii

The Cougars upset the fourth-seed Kamehameha-Hawaii Warriors in five sets, 25-23, 25-17, 18-25, 19-25, 15-12, and will face the Buffanblu in the semifinals of the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I Girls Volleyball Tournament.

The Cougars were led by Nikki Taylor's 19 kills, Haley Durham's 12 kills and 5 blocks, and Courtney Phillips match-high 6 blocks.

Kamehameha-Hawaii's Katelynne Paleka-Kennedy led all attackers with 22 kills.
