In a game with points at a definitel premium, Mid-Pacific earned the season sweep over Hanalani with a 26-22 win, helping the Owls improve to 7-3 in ILH Division II play.
Hanalani closed the gap to a single basket with 1:30 left, but ultimately needed to give five fouls with under a minute just to force free throws, and just flat out ran out of time.
The fourth quarter saw the Owls double the number its point total, led by freshman Sevi McCoy who scored 7 of her 9 points in the final period, including 1 of 2 free throws to make it all but academic.
Kourtney Marcos, who scored a team-high 12 points, made at least one basket in each period, including the only field goals in the first and third quarters for the Owls.
Hanalani was led by Tamlyn Celestino, who had 12 points to match Marcos' total, while leading scorer Cristina Harrison was held scoreless through the first three quarters of play. She finished the game with four points, nine under her season average.
The Royals hit just 2 of 8 free throws, while the Owls were just 1 of 6 from the stripe.
