Carondelet (Concord, Ca.) raced out to an early lead en route to a 60-46 win over the Raiders in the semifinals of the Iolani Classic.
Layla Dixon put up 23 points and Niylah Christoper 12, as the Cougars built up a 19-9 lead after the first and doubled that margin to 20 points by halftime.
Iolani, paced by Rayah Soriano's three triples and 19 points, battled back after the intermission, ouitscoring Canondelet 33-27 down the stretch, but it was not nearly enough to get within striking distance.
The Cougars will take on Saint Mary's, a 59-51 winner over South Medford, in the title game set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday. That game will be preceded by Kamehameha taking on Konawaena at 6 p.m. for fifth place. The third place game between Iolani and South Medford tips off at 3:30 p.m. and Campbell-Moanalua open the final day at 2 p.m. for seventh place.
