Kolten Doike drove in Kayden Tolentino in the bottom of the eighth inning to help Roosevelt walk off with a 3-2 win over visiting Aiea in a first-round game of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I baseball tournament at Stevenson Middle School Wednesday afternoon.
The Rough Riders, who are seeded fourth out of the Eastern Division, improved to 6-5 on the year and secured a spot in Thursday's quarterfinal round, where they will face West top-seeded Mililani at 3 p.m.
Na Alii, the fifth seed out of the West, saw their season end with a 3-8 record.
Leadoff batter Luke Tausivi batted 3 for 4 with a run scored for Roosevelt. Brayden Higa also doubled and drew a walk in the win.
Tolentino was the winning pitcher after logged a scoreless inning in the top of the eighth. He was the third pitcher used by the Rough Riders, who saw starter Matthew Chun allowed two runs on four hits over four innings of work before he gave way to Rayden Nakayama, who fired three scoreless innings of three-hit ball.
Caden Schaefer took the loss for Aiea. He threw two innings in relief of starter Dylan Wong, who allowed two runs (one earned) one five hits over 5 2/3 innings of work.
Dennison Zakahi (3 for 5, run) and Zion Ishikawa (2 for 4, triple, two RBI) led the way offensively for Na Alii.
