And then there was one.

Waianae needed ten innings of afternoon baseball to dispatch Kapolei, 2-1, remaining the lone unbeaten in OIA Division II play.

After nine scoreless frames with just eight hits between both teams, the Seariders finally broke through in the tenth, as Kona Maxwell, who motored all the way to third on an error came home to score two batters later, touching home plate for the game's first run after Kyson Rosa was cuaght stealing at second.

Samstyn Quel, the batter at the plate when the first run came across, ripped a line drive to left that resulted in a triple, and following a walk drawn by Chaesten Rice, KamrenJ Atanes laced a single down the first base side to score Quel with what would be the game-clincher.

Kapolei got one run back in the bottom of the tenth on a wild pitch that scored Keaka Alana, but Rico Gazelle was able to strike out the next batter to end it, stranding the potential game-tying run at second.

Rice pitched nine innings, allowing just five hits, walking two and striking out 11 to earn the win, and Gazelle managed his way out of the tenth to earn the save. Antanes was the lone batter with a multi-hit game, finishing 2 for 3 with a triple.

Kapolei starter Halona Felix lasted six innings, allowing just three hits, walking four and striking out five before giving way to Alana, who went the rest of the way, allowing two hits and two unearned runs, walking three and striking out two.
