Aidan Wong scored 23 points and ninth-ranked Iolani held off No. 7 University Lab 59-54 in overtime in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu opener for both teams Saturday. 

The Raiders (1-0) outscored the Jr. 'Bows (0-1) in the extra period, 7-2, in the first game of an ILH Division I doubleheader at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Center. 

Wong made 11 of his 12 free-throw attempts and Iolani went 19 of 23 as a team from the charity stripe. 

Declan Beckette scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Ayden Goo hit three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points. Goo also recorded six rebounds. 

Todd McKinney scored 18 points and Trey Ambrozich tallied 16 points and nine rebounds for University Lab, which outrebounded Iolani by a 31-24 margin. 

The Jr. 'Bows shot 42.6 percent (20 of 47) from the field, while the Raiders shot 41 percent (16 of 39). 

Iolani led at halftime, 26-23. 

The Raiders next play Thursday at Mid-Pacific, while UH Lab will visit top-ranked Saint Louis on Monday.
