University Lab continued its winning ways in ILH Division II play, knocking off Damien, 59-44, to improve to 10-0 in the regular season.
Koa Laboy had a game-high 23 points and Trey Ambrozich added 11 more to pace the Jr. Bows, who led 20-12 after the opening quarter.
Kainoa Santos had five points in the second period, as Damien outscored University Lab, 12-10, to close the gap to 30-24 at the half, but Laboy picked up the pace in the last two quarters, scoring 17 of his teams' 29 points down the stretch.
With three games remaining, the Jr. Bows are assured of at least a first place tie atop the standings, and can clinch the division title with a win Thursday over Hawaii Baptist.
Damien holds the inside track to finish second in the standings, and closes out the season with Hawaii Baptist Saturday and third place Le Jardin Monday.
A win over the Eagles would assure the Monarchs of at least a tie for second, and with four games remaining on its league slate for Le Jardin, including a regular season finale with the Jr. Bows, the Bulldogs have a bit of work to do in order to make the leap to second.
