Iolani kept pace with nationally ranked Sierra Canyon for a half, but the fifth-ranked Trailblazers put the pedal to the metal after halftime, outscoring the host team Raiders, 25-11 in the third quarter, en route to a 72-38 win in the semifinals of the Iolani Basketball Classic.
Mia Frye scored 10 points and Mele Sake added 6 for the Raiders, who trailed just 11-8 after the first quarter before the Trailblazers picked up the pace late in the second to build a eight point cushion at the break.
That lead ballooned to nearly 20 points as Sierra Canyon took control of the contest and coasted in the fourth quarter to a 34-point margin of victory.
Four Trailblazers reached double digits in the contest, led by Mac Randolph's 19. Jerzy Robinson added 18, Izela Arenas 13 and Emilia Krstevski 10, as the quartet accounted for 60 of the team's total.
The Iolani Classic concludes tomorrow with a four game slate, capped off by a battle between Sierra Canyon and number nine Sidwell Friends, a 59-33 winner over Clovis West, in the title game set for 7:30 p.m.
