Tenth-ranked Kalaheo broke through for its victory over Kahuku since the 2017 season, with a Senior Night sweep over the Red Raiders. The set scores were 26-24, 25-18, 25-19.

Jazzahlei Satele had 16 kills, 15 digs and four aces, all match highs, and sister Jadalynn added 11 kills, 13 digs, 18 assists and 2 aces to lead the way for the Mustangs, who finished the regular season with a 9-1 record to claim the second seed out of the East in the upcoming OIA Divsion I playoffs.

Kalaheo dug deep to claim the first set, as Kahuku rallied late to the tie the set at 24-all before the Mustangs got a key kill by Jazzahlei to get to aloha ball in the first and a mishandled ball gave the home team the opening game, 26-24.

That set one victory marked the first won by Mustangs in 11 sets played, dating back to Sept. 12, 2017.

From there, Kalaheo took sets two and three rather handily, closing the final two sets with scoring runs of 5-1 in the second and 4-1 in the third. In the match, the Red Raiders led briefly at 2-0, 6-3 and 11-9 in the second then at 2-0 again in the third before seeing its last lead of the match at 6-4.

No Red Raiders attacker reached double figures, though a trio of hitters nearly reached double digits, led by Ahleejah Tovo Sunia with nine.

Kahuku's front line outblocked Kalaheo, 6-2, but the Mustangs held an 8-2 advantage at the service line.

The Red Raiders, who have secured the fourth seed out of the East, close out the regular season Thursday with a game at home against Kaiser.
