The Waialua football team took what it wanted Friday night.

The Bulldogs recorded five interceptions and scored on two picks in a 39-6 homecoming win over McKinley in an OIA Division II contest at Toshiyuki Nakasone Field.

Jayvie Arellano caught six passes for 100 yards and a 16-yard score to lead Waialua offensively in the win as the Bulldogs improved to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Makoakai Fierro was also key with 76 rushing yards and a 1-yard touchdown on 14 carries. Fierro also booted field goals from 41 and 35 yards out and completed a 16-yard pass to convert on a fake punt.

Jack Amancio led the defense with two interceptions in the second quarter to set up two Waialua scores. He also added four receptions for 29 yards.

Zayne Kalulu got the scoring going for the Bulldogs with a 74-yard pick-6 midway through the second quarter. Rayden Wilson also scored on an interception with a 25-yard return at the 9:17 mark of the third quarter. Kalani Oga had the final interception of the day for Waialua in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers (0-6, 0-5) recorded three interceptions themselves with Makana Williams returning a pick 88 yards to the house to avoid the shutout.
