Punahou is moving on in the Motiv8 Foundation Division I Girls Soccer Championships.

After a scoreless first half, the Buffanblu got second-half goals by Carly Ann Cormack in the 46th minute and Dalen Lau in the 69th minute for a 2-1 opening-round win over visiting Pearl City Monday afternoon at Alexander Field.

Punahou advances to face third-seeded Waiakea in the quarterfinals on Thursday at Field 8 of the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.

Taylor Yoshimura scored in the 75th minute for the Chargers in their season-ending loss.
