Four different players scored a goal and No. 2 Punahou cruised to a 4-0 win over No. 3 Iolani in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu girls soccer game at Alexander Field Wednesday afternoon.
The Buffanblu improved to 3-0 in the ILH Division I standings, while the Raiders dropped their second straight result to fall to 2-2.
Candace Ching opened the scoring with her goal in the 14th minute. Dalen Lau found the back of the net in the 21st minute and Carly Ann Cormack did the same about three minutes later.
Punahou led at halftime, 3-0, and added an insurance score with Payton Inabata's goal in the 72nd minute.
The Buffanblu were playing just their second ILH match and their first on the field since a 7-0 win over Damien to open league play back on Dec. 13. Their game against PAC-5 on Dec. 17 was not contested as the Wolfpack forfeited.
Iolani was coming off of a 2-0 loss to top-ranked Kamehameha last Saturday.
Both teams are off until Jan. 3, when the Raiders visit Mid-Pacific and the Buffanblu take on their I-AA team.
Punahou and Iolani will play again on Jan. 14 at the Raiders' Kozuki Stadium.
