Led by Amani Hansberry's 20 point outing, Mount Saint Joseph used a balanced scoring attack to wear down Leilehua, 81-51, in the opening round of the Iolani Prep Classic.

Tyronna Farrell added 17 points, Austin Abrams 13 and Ace Valentine 10, as four Gaels hit the double digit mark in the points department.

The defending MIAA A conference championship built a 24-14 lead after the first quarter and steadily increased the margin throughout.

In the loss, Leilehua's Zelston Militante had a team-high 13 points and Twain Wilson added 10 more. The 5-foot-10 Militante challenged the much taller Gaels players in and around the paint all game, attacking the rim as well as drawing defenders on drives and dropping off passes to teammates.

Both teams resume play in the tournament on Monday.
