The Rainbow Warriors got 136 rushing yards and three touchdowns from Dedrick Parson in a 31-16 win at home over Nevada, the first win for head coach Timmy Chang over an FBS opponent.
Parson got the scoring started for Hawaii, plunging in from one yard out at the 11:25 mark of the opening quarter. Nevada countered with a one yard score of its own at the 4:06 mark by Devonte Lee to knot the score at seven a piece, before Hawaii took back the lead for good at the 2:21 mark when Brayden Schager found Zion Bowens on a 48 yard pitch and catch to make the score 14-7.
Nevada was held out of the end zone for the final three quarters, settling for a trio of field goals by Matthew Killiam down the stretch, while Hawaii continued to build a margin on the legs of Parson, who scored in the second quarter from nine yards out and again in the fourth from two yards away with 10:13 left in the contest.
In the last two games, the Rainbow Warriors' defense has held opponents to just 16 points, and has held opponents to under 100 yards rushing in both wins.
