Kapolei is moving on in the OIA Division I boys basketball playoffs.

The Hurricanes jumped out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back to down visiting Moanalua, 59-53, in the first round of the league's playoffs Saturday night.

Moanalua, who saw its season end with a 5-7 league record, shot just 1-for-8 from the field in the opening quarter before giving Kapolei all it could handle down the stretch.

Neveah Domingo scored 13 and Kaohu Castillo added 10 off the bench to lead the Hurricanes, who will travel to Kahuku in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Reserve Skylar Miyasato led all scorers with 14 points to lead Na Menehune in the loss.
