No. 9 'Iolani takes on No. 4 Punahou Friday

Having taken down defending D1 state champion Kamehameha already, No. 9 'Iolani is looking for its second win against another D1 opponent, No. 4 and crosstown rival Punahou, 3:15 p.m. Friday at Alexander Field.

It is the first of three Interscholastic League of Honolulu interdivisonal games Friday.

At Aloha Stadium, Pac-Five plays No. 2 Saint Louis at 5 p.m. and No. 7 Kamehameha takes on Damien at 7:45 p.m.

Punahou (3-1 overall, 1-1 ILH) is coming off a 35-17 loss to Saint Louis, while 'Iolani (5-1, 3-0) enters with a four-game win streak. The Raiders beat D1 Kamehameha, 13-6, two weeks ago.

Raiders' QB Reece Foy averages 6.7 yards per pass attempt, having throw nine TDs, whole being intercepted seven times. Josiah Sukumaran has been a favorite target, hauling in a team-leading 16 passes for 284 yards.

Buffanblu running back Steven Lakalaka has been the primary ball carrier, averaging 20 carries per game and 5.4 yards per rush.

'Iolani defensive back Reid Saito, a Division 2 all-state selection as a junior, returned an interception 100 yards last week against Pac-Five.

Meanwhile, Kamehameha (2-3, 0-2) and Damien (0-5, 0-2) are looking for their first league wins of the season. The Monarchs, who have scored one TD this season, have been shut out for 16 consecutive quarters.

Also, Saint Louis (5-1, 3-0) will be going against Pac-Five (1-4, 0-2).

The Crusaders have a double threat in QB Marcus Mariota (8.5 yards per pass attempt and 8.1 yards per rush), but the Wolf Pack has a talented linebacker in Josh Donovan, who seemingly is in on every Pac-Five tackle.
