The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors fell to the San Diego State Aztecs in a low-scoring contest, 17-10.
Chevan Cordeiro completed 19 of 34 passes for 175 and a touchdown, which included a 19-yard strike over the middle to Calvin Turner that tied the score at 7-all with 2:21 left in the first quarter.
San Diego State answered back with some trickery in the second, as holder Jack Browning took the snap on an apparent field goal and swung around the sideline 13 yards for a touchdown to put the visiting team back up, 14-7.
Down the stretch the teams traded field goals in the fourth quarter, with Hawaii's Matthew Shipley booting a field goal from 22 yards out to keep the home team within one score.
The Rainbow Warriors defense held, getting the offense the ball back with 1:16 left in regulation, but Hawaii was unable to get a play off before the clock ran out following a pass completion from Cordeiro to Dedrick Parson to the Aztec 23, ending the contest.
The defeat dropped the Warriors' record to 4-6 on the year.
