Top Performers Flashback: Vavae Malepeai

» ORIGINAL STORY: Mililani's Malepeai, Seabury Hall's Shipman lead top performers

Playing without injured quarterback McKenzie Milton, Mililani turned to the run game against Moanalua, and then-senior running back Vavae Malepeai delivered, rushing for a career-high 272 yards and five touchdowns in the Trojans' 60-36 win on Oct. 2, 2015.

Malepeai carried a season-high 24 times and scored on runs of 55, 5, 1, 18 and 86 yards. He averaged a gaudy 11.3 yards per rush.

The eventual University of Southern California commit capped off his senior season by being named All-Hawaii Division Offensive Player of the Year, leading all rushers in attempts (233), yards (1944), yards per game (149.5) and touchdowns (29). He also garnered Male Distinguished Athlete of the Year honors.
