Distinguished Athlete, Newcomer Award finalists announced




NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our awards banquet, slated to be held at the Ala Moana Hotel in June, regrettably had to be canceled. Online recognition of all our All-Hawaii Players of the Year, as well as the Distinguished Male and Female Athletes of the Year and the Newcomer Award winners, is expected to be made within the coming week.

Now in its seventh year, the ScoringLive Distinguished Athlete Awards, presented by the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra, honors standout student-athletes for their performance over the course of each sports season at an end of the year ceremony.

The culminating awards of the ceremony are the Male and Female Athletes of the Year, and we are proud to announce the finalists for this season.

They are, in alphabetical order:

Christmas Togiai, Kamehameha - basketball

Female Athlete of the Year
Keonilei Akana, Kamehameha Schools - volleyball
Teani Arakawa, King Kekaulike High School - soccer
Lily Wahinekapu, Iolani School - basketball

 
Pizza Hut Newcomer finalists selected

The Pizza Hut Newcomer is awarded for superior performance by a male and a female student-athlete participating in their first full year of play in varsity athletics. This year's finalists, in alphabetical order are:

Female Newcomer
