In a battle between two of the state's top squads, one mistake can decide the match.

Johnnie Dodge drew a foul in the goal area in the 35th minute and Liam Nichols-Shipley got the penalty kick to go through as reigning state champion Punahou came away with a 1-0 win over Iolani at Kozuki Stadium Thursday afternoon.

The Buffanblu (1-0) will look to improve their winning streak when they host Damien next Tuesday while the Raiders will attempt to get their first win of the season when they take on Mid-Pacific that same day.
