The team from the city got the best of the team of the country in the battle of Bulldogs this weekend.
Visiting Kaimuki scored early and often in a rout of Waialua, 61-7, in an OIA Division II contest at Toshiyuki Nakasone Field to get back in the win column Saturday night.
Senior Kaulana Kaluna caught five passes for 113 yards and three first-half touchdowns and the defense added two scores to help the Bulldogs improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Sophomore quarterback Jayden Maiava completed 15 of his 21 passes for 269 yards and five scores while adding 55 yards and another TD on the ground to cap the visitor's scoring.
Naomas Asuega-Fualaau led the rushing effort for Kaimuki with 172 yards and a 35-yard score on just 12 carries.
Sionepaongo Taufa returned an interception 40 yards to the house on Waialua's first official play from scrimmage and Puatasi Komiti recovered a mishandled snap in the end zone to give Kaimuki two defensive scores. The visitors also had five of their six sacks in the first half.
Ezekiel Sheridan made 5 1/2 tackles to lead Waialua (2-2 overall, 1-2 OIA D2) in the loss.
Justyce Lacar completed a 18-yard scoring strike to Justin "Kamu" Lorenzo for Waialua's lone TD of the game. Kayde Mahuka's PAT made it a 26-7 game with 4:14 to play in the second quarter.
