For three quarters, No. 3 Punahou could not get anything going until Koa Eldredge caught two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to help the Buffanblu beat No. 6 Kamehameha, 15-5 at Alexander Field in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Open Division contest.
Eldredge finished with four passes for 69 yards and caught 23 and 33 yard touchdown passes from John-Keawe Sagapolutele, who had 122 passing yards. Vincent Terrell added 72 yards on 14 carries.
Kahekili Pahio caught three passes for 56 yards Kawika Clemente had 41 rushing yards in the loss.
Preston Rezentes kicked a 35-yard field goal and the Warriors added a safety after the ball was snapped out of the end zone on a punt attempt for a 5-0 lead that held up until the fourth quarter.
Punahou improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 league and will travel to Second City to face No. 7 Kapolei on Aug. 24. Kamehameha (0-2 overall, 0-2 league) is seeking their first win of 2019 and will host Fagaitua from American Samoa to close out the month of August.
