Moanalua got off to a fast start and swept visiting Farrington, 25-8, 25-12 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association East opener for both teams Thursday night.

Na Menehune, who saw their OIA Division I championship streak come to an end last season, was coming off a title in the annual preseason Longhi tourney.

They were led by seniors Kalai Leopoldo, Caleb Casinas, and Duncan Clark.

Next up for Moanalua is a road contest against Kaimuki on March 6 while the Governors travel to Roosevelt on the same date.
