Top-ranked Punahou demolished visiting Hilo, 89-39, Wednesday night on the opening day of the 46th annual Punahou Boys Basketball Invitational at Christopher B. Hemmeter Fieldhouse.

Thirteen different players got into the scoring column as the Buffanblu knocked down 11 triples and outscore the Vikings in every quarter for a 50-point win.

Yoshi Kobayashi had 13 points on three made 3-pointers, Tristan Scharfenstein-Montgomery had 12, Kaulana Makaula 11, and Zayne Chong had 10 to round out the leading scorers for Punahou.

Liko Medeiros led the Vikings in the loss with 10 points.
