L. Lincoln 23 pts  7 3pm  0/0 FTs

With both teams putting on a shooting clinic, it was only fitting that the game was decided on a last second shot from beyond the arc.

Micah Mitchell recovered a full court pass and knocked down a corner triple as time expired to lift Hawaii Baptist over South Anchorage (Anchorage, Alaska) for a 60-59 win at Christopher B. Hemmeter Fieldhouse Wednesday night in the opening round of the 46th annual Punahou Boys Basketball Invitational.

After a missed free throw by the Wolverines' Marco Ghisaberti, the Eagles called timeout with under five seconds to play. Having to go the full length of the court, Adam Kikuta tried to get a pass to Max Weimken down court near the left wing. The pass was too tall for the 6-foot-3 Weimken, but Mitchell recovered the loose ball and took a couple dribbles before firing up the game-winning shot from the corner.

The Hawaii Baptist senior swingman's heroics overshadowed a strong performance by South Anchorage reserve guard Lian Lincoln, who scored a game-high 23 points with seven of the Wolverines' eight made 3-pointers.

Mitchell had 20 points and five made triples and Wiemken added 18 points to lead the Eagles in the win. Justin Ishida knocked down two treys off the bench while Ridge Wada and Cole Galiciano each added a made 3-pointer to give the Eagles' nine made triples in the contest.
