Saint Francis' second trip to Kozuki Stadium was a lot like its first visit early this year.
The Saints (7-3), ranked third in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Division II Football Power Rankings, dominated the line of scrimmage and rushed for 340 yards in their 43-19 win over Iolani (4-5) in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu second round game Friday afternoon.
Sophomore running back Bubba Aina-Chaves led the effort, running for 190 yards and four scores on 30 carries. He also ran in two 2-point conversions to give Saint Francis an early 16-0 lead in the second quarter.
The Saints move on to take on Damien in the ILH second round title game next Saturday at Hawaiian Tel FCU Field at Aloha Stadium. Because the Monarchs are the first round champ, Saint Francis will need to defeat them twice if it hopes to win the league crown.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ScoringLive continue its mission to provide the best and most comprehensive coverage of high school sports in the state of Hawaii and beyond.
