Visiting Pearl City took Game 1 from sixth-ranked Kapolei, but the Hurricanes were able to storm back to win in three sets, 23-25, 25-18, 15-5, in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division play Wednesday night.

Alexis Mareko put down a match-high 10 kills and Olivia Transfiguracion had 23 assists to help the Hurricanes improve to 3-0 atop the league standings.

Anela Pakaki-Pias added six kills and a match-high nine digs and middle Michelyn Pililaau had five kills and three aces to round out the leading hitters for Kapolei.

Rebecca Matapua had seven kills and two aces to lead the Chargers (0-3) in the loss.
