Campbell sweeps visiting Waialua to start season

Host Campbell defeated Waialua in straight sets, 25-17, 25-18, Wednesday night to start off the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division regular season with a win.

Shayla Limatoc had eight kills, two digs and two aces in the win and Gieani Balino added seven more kills to lead the Sabers (1-0) in the sweep. Nadia Taeatafa, Jordan Skief and Jaysia Kalaola were also key with two kills each.

Tausala Moeaveave had six assists and Leaa Puleiala had four kills to lead the Bulldogs (0-2) in the loss.

The Sabers were supposed to start their season against Waipahu last Wednesday, but the match got postponed until this upcoming Thursday.

Waialua will try to bounce back when they host Waianae next Tuesday.
