Kapaa, Konawaena draw top seeds in Division II tourney






Brackets for the First Hawaiian Bank/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II football state championships were released today, with Kapaa earning the top seed and Konawaena second.

In the tournament's opening round on Nov 4, Damien faces off with Waialua at Campbell at 4:30 p.m., and Waipahu takes on Lahainaluna at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium on Maui.

On Nov 12, the top-seeded Warriors will await the winner of the Damien-Waialua contest in a 3 p.m. semifinal game at Vidinha Stadium, while the Waipahu-Lahainaluna victor faces off with second-seed Konawaena in a 7 p.m. semi in Kealakekua.

The Division II title game is set for 4:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium on Nov 18.
