Braves to hold open tryouts July 16 at Hans L'Orange

For the second consecutive year, the Atlanta Braves will be holding an open tryout camp in Hawaii.

The tryout is set for July 16 at Hans L'Orange Park in Waipahu. Registration is 8:30 a.m. with the tryouts set for 9 a.m.

Last year, more than 100 showed up for the event at Keehi Lagoon.

The camp is open to players ages 16 to 23. Players must provide their own cleats and gloves. The Braves will provide the bats and balls.

Players must sign a liability waiver before registering. A form may be down loaded from atlanta.braves.mlb.com/atl/fan_forum/tryout_camp.jsp.

American Legion participants also must provide a permission letter from the post commander.

For more information, call the Braves front office at 404-522-7630.
