Kapolei scored a run in five different innings to fend off visiting Waialua, 9-6 in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II contest Wednesday afternoon.

Joseph Ching scored two runs and had a two RBI home run to help the Hurricanes improve to 10-0 atop the league standings.

Kapolei starter Ty-Noah Williams pitched five and two-third innings before getting pulled in the sixth inning when Waialua (7-3) scored three runs to cut the Hurricanes' lead to one. Bradyn Yoshida relieved Williams and picked up the save after pitching three strikeouts.

Losing pitcher Royce Tashiro tossed six strikeouts and had a two RBI home run to lead the Bulldogs.
