Moanalua, Mililani advance into OIA semis


 





Moanalua and Mililani each came away with victories in the quaterfinal round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I playoffs Tuesday night.

Na Menehune, the top seed from the OIA East, was able to down Kapolei, 3-1. The Trojans shutout Kailua, 3-0, in the first quarterfinal match at Moanalua's field.

The two teams will face off against each other on Thursday in the second semifinal game at Kapolei.

Rachel Elizares notched her first goal of the season to give Moanalua an early 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Also with a goal scored for Na Menehune were Jacie Iwane and Kelci Sumida.

Michele Bonifacio accounted for the Hurricanes' lone goal.

Goal scorers in the Trojans' win were Mariko Bebb, Kii Aweau and Marisa Matsuo.
