The National Football League is teaming up with local high schools for the 2016 Pro Bowl.
Prep football players from Oahu will be able to purchase tickets for the all-star exhibition through school-specific links (listed below), with their respective school receiving $5 of each ticket.
The tickets are located mostly in the North end zone with a few sections on the Mauka sideline and range in price from $30 to $75 each.
"These are pre-sale tickets, so the NFL is making them available to the high school players first, but it is still very limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis," Oahu Interscholastic Association executive director Raymond Fujino said.
In all about 1,900 seats are being held for prep players, who will also participate in an on-field processional during halftime of the Pro Bowl.
"The NFL has always been a very good partner with high school football in Hawaii and this year the idea was to feature these high school players during the game," Fujino said.
Hawaii High School Athletic Association executive director Chris Chun said the initiative benefits both parties.
"The NFL wanted to create more interest in the Pro Bowl and I think it's a two-fold benefit because it does create more interest in the Pro Bowl and it showcases Hawaii football kids on the biggest stage. It's a great way for the Pro Bowl to give back," Chun said. "The ultimate goal for the kids should be to come back and play in the Pro Bowl someday and some have gone on to do it. The NFL was talking about create that bridge for them to do it."
The game will be held on Jan. 31, 2016 at Aloha Stadium.
