KAPALAMA HEIGHTS— Kumoku Noa caught four touchdown passes as No. 5 Kamehameha-Kapalama trounced No. 10 Iolani, 63-21 on Homecoming Night at Kunuiakea Stadium on Friday night.

The Warriors claim their first Interscholastic League of Honolulu win of to improve to 1-2, 4-2 overall, while the Raiders drop their third straight game to fall to 0-3, 2-4 overall.

Noa had 140 receiving yards and three scores in the first half and finished the game with 189 yards. He scored on a 16-yard touchdown in the first quarter and caught a 55-yard touchdown and a 2-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

"It feels great to get the win, I got to give it up to my o-line and quarterback," said Noa. "I do it for my brothers, my family, and coaches who teach me a lot."

Junior quarterback Justice Young made the most of his opportunity to start and threw for 370 yards on 22-of-41 passing.

"It's a big opportunity to start on homecoming and to win for the seniors," said Young.

"He had a lot of composure and he believed in us and we believed in him," said Noa, on Young.

"He (Young) got to play when Fatu was dinged up and he's been playing well in practice and the reps he got in non-league games and we felt we were more dynamic on offense with Fatu as receiver. We played pretty well, but there are things we have to clean up," said Kamehameha coach Doug Cosbie.

Keoni-Kordell Makekau kicked a 42-yard field goal and caught a 29-yard touchdown in the second quarter for Iolani. He led the Iolani receivers with 13 catches for 145 yards. Tai-John Mizutani threw for 245 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

The Warriors took a commanding 28-9 lead going into halftime and outscored the Raiders, 35-12 in the second half.

Fatu Sua-Godinet caught 10 passes for 166 yards, he hauled in a 38-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter from backup quarterback Brett Yap.

Jordan Bayudan rushed for 107 yards on 14 carries and had a 5-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

"They are big playmakers on this team and I have to get them the ball and they will get the yards. The o-line was blocking really well tonight," said Young.

Young and Noa connected in the third quarter for a 49-yard touchdown. Kainalu Martin intercepted Mizutani's pass and returned it 57 yards for the score.

Iolani running back KJ Pascua scored two rushing touchdowns in the second half. The Kamehameha defense stuffed the run, holding the Raiders to -9 net rushing yards for the game. 

Kanoa Shannon and Brayden Miyamoto each added rushing touchdowns for the Warriors late in the second half. Adam Stack went 9-for-9 on PATs.

Iolani travels to top-ranked Punahou (3-0 ILH, 6-0 overall) on Friday Oct. 2 while Kamehameha will play Saint Louis (2-1 ILH, 4-1 overall) on Thursday on Oct. 2 at Aloha Stadium.
